3 July 2010

Another lovely day weaher wise and this time our destination was Machen Agricultural show.  We loaded the lorry for an early start with Triad Polly Anna and Cwrt y Bella Rokocoko.  Polly was first in the ring and was placed third in a strong Yearling Class.

Later in the day was the turn of Rokocoko.  He won the Yearling class and also went on to take Reserve Champion of the C's.

It was a great day out and was made ever more special by seeing one of the ponies sold by us Blaidd Little Miss Muffet taking part in the fancy dress dressed as Aladdin complete with magic carpet.  It is lovely to see she has such a great new home.  Hipefully we will see you out and about another time.

30 June 2010

We took Cwrt y Bella Ronaldo and Porchin Sheila evening Showjumping down the road to Smugglers Run.  Ronaldo jumped a lovely double clear resulting in a second place in his class and for a 4 year old is showing tremendous maturity and promise.  Not to be outdone his mum Porchin Sheila also jumped a clear round which will hopefully be built on during the coming months.

27 June 2010

Four ponies made the outing to Hilltop Show for a lovely day of competition.

Triad Polly Anna and Cwrt y Bella Rokocoko both finished 3rd in their respective classes.  Our lovely Section D Coedllys Medwyn made his first trip of the season, which resulted in a win in a strong ridden D class.  He is still going strong at 18 and really enjoyed his day out.

After breeding 6 super foals Porchin Sheila was brought back into work 3 weeks ago and made her first ever outing under saddle.  She took it all in her stride and was placed 4th in the ridden C class.  Hopefully she contest the WHP Classes through the winter season.

26 June 2010

We took a trip to Islwyn Borough Pony Club show in order to give Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo another outing over jumps.  He has improved dramatically over the last two weeks and jumped a lovely clear round.  He then contested the WHP Class where he had an unlucky pole resulting in a 3rd place.  He did a lovely show and is pogressing well to contest the novice m&m Whp classes through the Winter Season.

20th June 2010

We took our novice Large Hack Lyndell Firestarter to the Crick Summer show held at Broomes Event Centre in Chepstow.  He contested a strong hack class where he finished 5th.  He is improving with every outing and is becoming an exciting prospect for the future.

18 June 2010

We headed off to the three counties show in Malvern.  Cwrt-y-bella Ronaldo contested the picton Novice class.  The class had 22 entries which was the biggest picton class of the day.  He did a lovely show and finished 5th.  He was the highest placed Welsh Section C only being beaten by some lovely section B's.

06 June 2010

For the second week running we travelled to the Broomes Event Centre for what turned out to be a lovely day, both in respects of the weather and the results.

Cwrt-y-Bella Rokocoko took 2nd and 3rd in his classes.

Triad Polly Anna, shown for the second time by Paul took a 2nd in her first class.  She then took part in the Welsh Medal class, where she won her class and then took Champion in a strong Section A Championship.  It was the second Championship for Paul and Pollyanna in less than 7 days and to make the win even more special we won our first WPC's Medal!  The win also meant a qualification for the Brightwells Supreme Chmapionship later in the year.

Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo had another good day.  He was perfectly behaved and took a 2nd in a strong PUK Kingsford novice class.

All three ponies have now qualified for Ponies UK summer champs where they will be heading in August.

The in hand classes followed later in the afternoon.  Rokocoko came 2nd in his class.  Polly Anna was shown by Paul and won her class.  She then went on to take the Section A Championship.

CLEAR ROUND!!!!!  Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo attended his first ever jumping show this evening.  After starting to jump two weeks ago Ronnie has progressed quickly and is enjoying every minute of it.  He was a true super star as always and jumped a lovely clear round.  We are all very proud of him.  Hopefully this is a sign of a what is to come in the future.  We are planning to start the M&M WHP classes this winter.

22 May 2010

We made the very short journey down the road to Smugglers Run summer show.  The weather was glorious which made for a lovely day.

Our homebred Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo picked up a 1st place in the Section C Mare & Gelding in hand class.  He also won the Section C & D Under saddle.  His full brother Cwrt-y-Bella Rockokoco took 1st in the Yearling class.  Our lovely section A yearling filly Triad Pollyanna also won her class.

Hopefully the weather will be equally ad nice for the rest of the season.

19 May 2010

In the early hours of the morning Sky gave birth to a lovely filly foal.  It was a trouble free birth and within hours the foal was cantering around the field.  The foal who's pet name is 'Dot' is yet to be given her official name, hopefully we will decide on one soon.  Sky is showing early signs of being a great mum and is taking it all in her stride.

29 April 2010

FOAL WATCH!!!! With just two weeks to go until 'Skys' (Barristers Spirits) due date we are all on foal watch.  Eagerly anticipating the arrivial of a new member to the family.  Hopefully all will go to plan and we won't have too much longer to wait.

24 April 2010

Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo made an outing to the NPS Spring festival.  The weather was superb and made for a lovely show. He qualified for the NPS 2010 Summer Championship show and the NPS 2011 Spring Festival.  As usual he was impeccably behaved throughout.

20/21 March 2010

We made the outing to the PUK Southern Winter Championship Show.  The traffic or weather was not on our side, but luckily all of our classes were held in the lovely indoor arena at Towerlands which made up for the bad weather..

Our homebred Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo made the long journey for what would be his first overnight stay at a show.  He took it all in his stride as usual and settled straight away.  A lovely weekend was had by the four of us that had made the journey.  'Ronnie' even made it through to his first ever evening performance were he came a credible 3rd.  Thankfully the journey home took a full two hours less than the journey down to Towerlands.  We are all looking forward to the next outing.

14 February 2010

Paul, with only 6 hours of riding tuition from his wife Kate is showing remarkable promise.  He is already attempting small jumps.  A credit to rider, tutor and most of all our trusty Section D Coedllys Medwyn known to most as Bob.

6 February 2010

Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo made his second outing under saddle to the BSPS Area 13B Show in Stretcholt Farm.  From the lovely working in arenas to the bright and airy indoor school I cannot rate the venue highly enough.  We will no doubt be visiting the venue again in the future.

Ronaldo contested a strong Novice M&M Class which hosted every breed from 'Welshies' to Connemaras.  He came 2nd in the class being pipped at the post by a lovely Fell Stallion, who we will no doubt be seeing more of in the future.  Ronaldo showed major improvement from his first outing, even pulling off a small gallop (I think he must be the most laid back 4 year old in the country).

He has once again qualified for the BSPS Winter Champs and also for the NPS Spring Festival.

24 January 2010

Lucky gets a new home.

Our lovely piebald gelding has been sold and now has a lovely new home.  He is settling in well and we wish the new owners the best of luck with Lucky.  I am sure he will give you as much fun and success as he has given us.

Lucky III

23 January 2010

Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo made his first outing under saddle.  After the delay brought by the weather conditions we were finally able to make the outing to Sunnybank Equestrian Centre for the BSPS Show.  'Ronnie' was a true star as always and took it all in his stride.  He came a credible 2nd in the Novice M&M and has now qualified for the BSPS Winter Championships.  A great day was had by all and with the 2010 season now underway we are excited as to what the year will bring.

07 January 2010

Snow stops play:  After months of preparation and anticipation our homebred section C's Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo's first trip out under saddle has been postponed.  He was due to contest his first class under saddle at Rutland on Sunday 10th January.  Hopefully the cold snap will soon end and we will be back on track..

01 November 2009 South Western Association of the WPCS Winter Show.

We braved the awful weather and headed off to the Conquest Centre in Taunton.  Thankfully the results for the day were a lot better than the weather.

Our Homebred Section A gelding Gaybadaw George claimed a 2nd in the yearling class.

On his very first outing after being with us for just a few weeks, Boniface Replica won the Section D 2/3 year old class and claimed reserve champion of the D's.  He took 2nd place in the potential WHP class being beaten by our very own homebred Section C Cwrt-y-Bella Ronaldo.  Ronaldo went on to take the Youngstock championship and Reserve Supreme Youngstock of the show.

The ponies were impeccably behaved and a great day was had by all.
